Google just made creator content measurable beyond the feed
Google’s new Search Console update shows creator content is moving beyond the feed, becoming part of how brands are discovered across Search, social and AI.
Google’s latest Search Console update may look like a measurement tweak. It is much bigger than that - signalling that creator content is becoming part of the searchable web.
Meet the “platform properties” feature in Search Console, which enables creators and publishers to track which search terms drive traffic to their social media profiles, posts, and YouTube content.
In other words, the search giant will be the “consolidated” discovery ecosystem. Creators will soon be able to see how audiences discover their Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube content when searching on Google.

A TikTok video might be found through Search. A YouTube clip might answer a consumer question. An Instagram profile might surface when someone is researching a product, category or creator.
That changes how brands should think about creator partnerships.
The value of creator content is no longer only about how it performs in the first 24 to 48 hours. It is also about whether that content can continue to be discovered when people are actively searching for first-hand perspectives, reviews, recommendations, or real human experience.
For brands, this is the next phase of creator measurement.
The question: How did this post perform in the feed? Is changed to Where else is this creator's content being discovered, and what intent is it capturing?
The feed is no longer the full story
For years, creator marketing has been treated like a “television campaign”.
A post goes live, the brand tracks views, engagement, reach and comments for a few days, and then the campaign moves on.
Fabulate co-founder Nathan Powell says that the model is becoming “increasingly outdated.”
That approach made sense when creator content was largely judged by its initial performance inside a social feed. But discovery is no longer happening in one place.
TikTok and Instagram have already invested heavily in search, extending the lifespan of content well beyond its initial feed distribution. Google’s latest move takes that a step further by making creator content measurable directly within Search.
Creator posts can now keep working after the campaign ends

A creator post is no longer just generating awareness while it is trending. It can keep answering questions, solving problems, and introducing people to brands for weeks, months, or even years after it was first published.
That changes the value equation for brands.
“Brands should start thinking less about buying a moment of attention and more about building a library of discoverable content that continues delivering value long after the campaign has finished,” Powell says.
In other words, creator content is becoming less disposable.
The best posts are not just made to win the feed today. They are built to be found later, when a consumer is actively searching for advice, reviews, recommendations or proof.
Creator content is becoming part of the brand’s digital footprint
Traditionally, a brand’s digital infrastructure has consisted of its website, landing pages, SEO pages, and blog content.
But that definition is expanding.
When someone searches for product reviews, styling advice, travel recommendations, tutorials or category explainers, the most useful answer will not always come from a corporate website. Increasingly, it will come from creators with genuine experience in the product or category.
In that context, a well-made creator video is not just social content. It becomes part of a brand’s searchable digital footprint.
Powell says this is exactly where the market is heading: “As AI search and recommendation engines continue evolving, they’re looking for helpful, authentic content wherever it exists. That means a well-made creator video isn’t simply social content anymore. It’s becoming part of a brand’s searchable digital footprint.”
Follower count loses more value

This also changes what brands should value in a creator.
Follower numbers still matter, but they are becoming less useful as a standalone signal. If discovery is happening across social feeds, Google Search and AI assistants, the most valuable creators will not simply be those who can generate views.
They will be the ones whose content people actively seek out, reference and trust.
“We’re moving towards an internet where discovery happens across recommendation algorithms, Google Search and AI assistants simultaneously,” Powell says.
That means creators who can explain clearly, show genuine experience and create useful category content may become more valuable than creators who simply spike in reach.
